What Are My Easy Rewards Commute Options?
Back to HomeThere are many smart options to driving alone. Try any of these modes while participating in the Easy Rewards program and we'll send you a VISA gift card each month for 3-months (amount depends on commute option). If you stick with it, we'll pay you an additional $25 each quarter (each additional 3 months) that you continue your new commuting practices and fill out your commute calendars. We'll do this for up to one year or until the program closes. (No more then one month interruption. Must use an option at least 8 times each month.) Try It! You'll save your money and your sanity.
Carpool - (Easy Rewards incentive is $15/mo for 2-person carpool, $25/mo for 3-person carpool & $50/mo for 4-person carpool) Carpooling is one of the most flexible and convenient ways to share the ride. Simply find at least one other person who shares a similar commute with you, determine a driving schedule, develop a few ground rules and you are on your way! Vanpool - (Easy Rewards incentive is $50/mo) Why put miles on your personal car, when you can put them on a Metro owned van? Groups of five or more people split a monthly fare that pays for gas, insurance, maintenance and even 24-hour roadside assistance. There are more vanpools in Washington State than anywhere in the country! For more information on vanpools and a list of current vanpools on the road click here.
Transit - (Easy Rewards incentive is $50/mo) Leave the driving to someone else and arrive at work relaxed for a change. Taking the bus, train, or ferry allows you to catch up on the important aspects of your life that you just can't do when you drive alone: sleep, read the newspaper, make your grocery list, play solitaire on your laptop... Area Park and Ride lots make it handy to leave your car behind and let your friendly transit agency do the driving.
Bike/Walk - (Easy Rewards incentive is $50/mo) Exercise your commute options and your body! Try riding a bike or walking to work instead of driving alone. It's an inexpensive way to get to work and you'll be swimsuit-ready for that Hawaiian vacation. Better yet, try biking to work and use one of the above options on your way home; most buses and vanpools in the county are, or can be, equipped with bike racks.
Work from Home - (Easy Rewards incentive is $50/mo) Pajamas and bunny slippers - while frowned upon as business attire, they are perfectly acceptable to wear while working from home. Telecommuting (or teleworking) is an efficient way to accomplish work without driving into the office. If your company allows it, give it a try during Smart Moves-Smart Options.
